TORONTO (January 22, 2013) The fans have spoken! Sportsnet, Canada’s prime destination for all things hockey, kicked off the start of its NHL broadcast schedule with authority, recording its largest audience ever for an NHL regional game with an average of 1.1 million (2+) viewers tuning in to the Toronto Maple Leafs home opener vs. the Buffalo Sabres last night on Sportsnet Ontario at 7 p.m. ET. Sportsnet has produced five Canadian NHL regional broadcasts in the first three days of the NHL season, delivering double to triple digit audience growth across all of its broadcasts.
