from Curtis Pashelka of the Mercury News,
The Sharks’ game against the Predators became testy after Marc-Edouard Vlasic was hit and knocked out of the game by Ryan Johansen in the third period. One fight and a handful of roughing penalties ensued before the Sharks finished off a 4-1 win....
Johansen said he was going after Pavelski after he felt the Sharks captain delivered a questionable hit in the Predators’ zone.
“I actually went at him because he hit me in the same spot, a blind side hit, boarding probably,” Johansen said. “So I just didn’t like the hit. I didn’t think anyone would come after me because it was a clean hit (on Vlasic), just unlucky.”...
Vlasic’s head appeared to make hard contact with the glass and he stayed on the ice on all fours for several moments before he was assisted off. He had 15:55 of ice time up until the time he was injured.
“I hope he’s OK, first of all. I totally thought it was clean. I would never, ever try and hit someone in a bad position,” Johansen said. “I felt like I was just getting body position on him, but I really hope he’s OK because you never want to see anybody go down.”
