Jordin Tootoo stood up for teammate Bobby Farnham by fighting Ryan Reaves of the St. Louis Blues during a third period brawl Tuesday night at Scottrade Center, but the Devils' winger wasn't able to speak with reporters after the game.
Reaves, possibly the most feared fighter in the NHL, landed a vicious right hand to the side of Tootoo's head in the fight at 11:50 of the third period. Tootoo went down and was clearly hurt when he eventually got up and skated off.
"Great job by Jordin to answer the bell against a tough guy like Reaves. That's a situation were I should answer it before he has to," Farnham said.
How badly was Tootoo hurt? Devils general manager Ray Shero said the winger would be evaluated Wednesday before being allowed to speak with reporters.
