Video- Mike Smith Has The Puck Lodged In His Pants, Puts Butt In Goal And… Sabres Win In OT

I heard Mike Smith post-game saying once the ref lost sight of the puck, the whistle should have been blown.

One of the strangest goals I have seen.

via the Situation Blog,

At 3:47 of overtime in the Coyotes/Sabres game, video review supported the referee's call on the ice tha tMark Pysyk's shot deflected into the air and landed in goaltender Mike Smith's equipment and, while attempting to make the save, Smith's momentum propelled him and the puck completely across the goal line. Good goal Buffalo.

I gotta say… and it hurts to say it… but I’d rather lose 3-0 like we did tonight, than lose like that.  That one *has* to hurt like running through an alcohol sprinkler while covered in paper cuts.

Ridiculous. I’m surprised they didnt whistle that that as a dead play. When the ref loses sight of the puck, the play is supposed to be called dead immediately, no? if that same exact thing to happen to a forward or defenseman anywhere else on the ice, they would whistle it is a dead play.

Mike Babcock will pick Mike Smith as his starting goalie at Sochi and Team Canada will be eliminated by Norway watch, lol.
Haha, we will see that highlight replayed from here to end of days. Ah poor Smith.
