from Kerry Fraser of TSN,
Presently, there is no review process in place to determine a violation of Rule 69—goalie interference. For the past three seasons, I have been publicly advocating for the implementation of a referee's review to be conducted from a monitor in the penalty box for all potential goals scored where goalkeeper interference is suspected. This would require a rule change and it finally appears to be getting some solid traction and consideration from the general managers.
Even if the referees had the ability to utilize video review, Jonathan Huberdeau's shootout winning goal on Saturday night would be one of the most difficult plays to determine if the goal was in fact scored in a legal manner. I believe that the vast majority of the referees would allow Huberdeau's goal to stand. Let me explain why.
