NEW YORK (Nov. 27, 2017) – Colorado Avalanche forward Gabriel Landeskog has been suspended for four games, without pay, for cross-checking Calgary Flames forward Matthew Tkachuk during NHL Game No. 356 in Colorado on Saturday, Nov. 25, the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced today.

The incident occurred at 15:18 of the first period. Landeskog was assessed a minor penalty for cross-checking.

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and, based on his average annual salary, Landeskog will forfeit $119,815.68. The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.

I do have to wonder if Tkachuk is going to find himself getting hit more and more like this, since he seems to be a prick on the ice.

He has a target on his back, his hit and run, diving, etc etc will haunt him. Which I will enjoy very much. He won’t fight.  just waits until a team mate arrives.

Sadly I see him play on a regular basis here in Canada

Damn that looks nasty in slow motion. I can support the suspension. I know Tkachuk is a prick but you have to penalize the action. It wouldn’t take much more to break someone’s neck than that.
