Tomas Plekanec gets caught and is called for diving.


In game 4 of the series, almost the same type of play, but Plekanec sold it just enough to get the call on Brian Boyle.  Watch it below...

In slow motion, that looked even more sad. That replay was gold. He and Burrows should do a comedy revue in the off season with that kind of slapstick.

Diving is bad for the game and Pleks’ dive was bad for him and his team. But the NHL is a diving haven full of histrionic players on many teams that will do anything to give their team an edge.

When the Wings go down it is their dastardly opponents who surely tried to kill them. When Boston goes down it means that the opponent must have applied unimaginable force to the might Bruin.

Gimme a break. In fact, bite me. Montreal dives less than most teams because they are a skating team. Speed in any direction increases the force of many infractions such that a small push or chip can take down a player that, moving slower, would otherwise be expected to keep his balance.

Montreal dives less than other teams. They draw penalties with speed.

But what Pleks did sucked, he got caught, and the team paid the ultimate price.
