He leaves his feet and launches himself at an angle to do damage at a high point of
contact on Staal as he’s going down, elbow to head and really finishes, pushing his elbow
into Staal’s face after first impact.

Emelin is a serially dirty player and needs to be suspended for that hit.

If not the NHL is again telling teams - vigilante action is the only way you’re going
to get any satisfaction.

No he doesn’t leave his feet until the hit has been made.

What the heck is Stall doing with his head down that low on the boards. I mean honestly what do you expect when you put yourself in that position.

If staal stays upright its just a normal board battle. Instead he couches down and puts his head at shoulder level.

Yeah, it’s unfortunate, but there was nothing dirty about that hit. It was just unfortunate with Staal being hunched down that way and Emelin was trying to finish his check… you explain how you’re supposed to suddenly stop the momentum. He didn’t lift his shoulder/elbow up and feet didn’t leave the ground until impact was made, again, the by-product of momentum.

I watched it full speed without commentary. It was an unfortunate hit but wasn’t dirty. Stall damn near sat down.  There was no way to anticipate that. If he stays up it’s a nothing play. It was too fast to adjust.
