Do you agree with the penalties?
Phoenix Raffi Torres: 2 minutes, elbowing
Phoenix Raffi Torres: 5 minutes, fighting
Boston Adam Mcquaid: 2 minutes, instigator
Boston Adam Mcquaid: 5 minutes, fighting
Boston Adam Mcquaid: 10 minutes, misconduct

I remember when the Wings used to have eachothers backs…
Sad but true… Good old times

Torres deserves this kind of beatdown every night.
I hope Shanahan suspends him. That’s a blatant target of the head and illegal hit.
P.S. @ HockeytownOverhaul, the NHLPA votes to keep the instigator penalty in every CBA. They want it in there.

Except for the fact that what Torres did wasn’t an elbow and that he probably should have gotten a major for targeting a guy’s head, these penalties are pretty much in line with what they should have been.

Yeah, that is the way I felt. While Torres is a slime ball, McQuaid is not much better.

Torres should be suspended for the hit, no doubt. No player in the game should be making that kind of hit period. The fact that he got a solid beatdown by McQuaid is irrelevant (though enjoyable, I must say).
As for the penalties, I think the refs could also have given Torres an Unsportsmanlike. But the fact that they end up a wash is fair, I believe.

I think it all evened out in the end. Torres is a dirtbag and McQuaid had no business in the fight.

Now that Matt Cooke has been reborn as Tim Tebow Jr (so nice that no one can hate him—j/k); Torres is quickly taking his place as biggest crap bag in the NHL. Honestly, this butt whooping by McQuaid was more enjoyable to watch than seeing Evander Kane knockout Matt Cooke.
I hope Shanahan finishes this and puts Torres down for four games or more.

Well, for my money, the most entertaining thing is when McQuaid knocks himself out on the end boards…..really brings out that cave-man look.

No. Curious to see if Torres receives anything more than the beat-down McQuaid dolled out; solid response by McQuaid.
