Beyond the Puck offers a rare glimpse into the life of Andrew Ference, NHL hockey player for the Boston Bruins and his eco-friendly way of life at home and on the road.
Andrew’s an environmental activist, a Stanley Cup champion, the husband of a former professional snowboarder, and father of two girls. He rides his bike to “work” and doesn’t mind being called a tree hugger — he’s just as comfortable checking opponents on the ice as he is teaching kids about composting in elementary schools.
The 10-episode web series premieres this Thursday, February 16 – you can find more details and episodes as they premiere here and watch a trailer below… (note the video is on auto-play)

Thomas’ stance isn’t a distraction either. The only people upset by Timmay’s comments were liberals and the majority liberal news media upset that the Obmessiah got dissed. Nothing more nothing less.

Wow, that’s quite impressive! Definitely a refreshing thing to see a player so devoted to such good causes.

Sorry, should have used sarcasm font. I can’t believe any of this matters to any of the players, just wanted to make sure we can build a mountain out of this mole hill too.

Great Boston is full of activists, first Tim Thomas, now this guy. Then again Ference has been promoting his agenda longer than Thomas has been posting his. Only Ference’s political stance is not considered a distraction to the team. I wonder how many players have been asked if they stopped using wooden sticks to save the planet or if it is more sustainable to use than composites? How are the Bruins ever going to defend their Cup with Chara’s massive carbon footprint?
