TORONTO (March 23, 2010) – Colorado Avalanche forward Darcy Tucker has been suspended for one game, without pay, for making excessive physical contact on an icing play, in NHL game #1079 against the Los Angeles Kings, last night, the National Hockey League announced today.
Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, and based on his average annual salary, Tucker will forfeit $11,658.03. The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
Tucker was assessed a minor penalty for tripping Kings player Matt Greene on the play, which occurred at 10:13 of the third period.
