So, the NHL brass has decided to initiate a ‘crackdown on cross-checking’ eh? Little late for Dylan Larkin after the Jamie Benn cross check to the back of his neck.

Hopefully, it will put an end to these types of dirty checks.

Knowing the NHL brass, their response
would still be “Jamie Benn is a good ol’ Canadian boy
- that was just normal jousting off of a face off - unfortunate how
his stick slid up - no violation in the rule book”

I’m sure they mean more like blatant, repeated
two-handers you couldn’t miss from space.
The kind that embarrass the league in the playoffs
when too many are ignored. We’ll see how consistent
the officials will be and for how long. Some will seemingly always
ignore penalties by players and teams they like, and nitpick when it’s the opposite.
