via NHL.com,
Tomas Hertl will miss the remainder of the season for the San Jose Sharks because of a torn ACL and MCL in his right knee.
The 26-year-old forward sustained the injury in the first period of a 5-2 loss to the Vancouver Canucks on Wednesday when he went into the end boards with Canucks defenseman Christopher Tanev.
This is the second significant right-knee injury for Hertl, who was second on the Sharks with 36 points (16 goals, 20 assists) in 48 games and was named an all-star for the first time as an injury replacement for teammate Logan Couture, who is out with a fractured ankle. He had surgery to repair damaged ligaments in his right knee as a rookie in 2013-14.
