The Winnipeg Jets Look Done

from Paul Friesen of the Winnipeg Sun,

They got beat when they had an extra man on the ice and they got beat while shorthanded.

They got beat by a line of kids and they got beat by a line of old-timers.

They got beat at the start of the game, they got beat at the end.

They had less discipline and less desire.

Their goalie got outplayed, their defence got outplayed and their forwards were outplayed, from the top line to the fourth.

They weren’t as fast or as smart.

And they lost their cool in a third-period mini-parade to the penalty box.

Sunday night’s win-or-else tilt in Montreal was as complete a failure as we’ve seen from the Winnipeg Jets in a long time. A game that demanded their best brought out their worst.

Hardly the only problem, by far, but Dubois looks
about as lost in Winnipeg without Tortorella pushing him as Laine did
in Columbus with no top centers and Torts trying to make him a 200 ft.
power forward.
