from Brett Cyrgalis of the New York Post,
The well-worn seat underneath Garth Snow is unquestionably warming up.
The much-maligned Islanders general manager now is in the direct line of fire with ownership going above his head to speak to the legendary Lou Lamoriello about some sort of front-office job, as reported on by two Canadian news outlets Friday night.
Lamoriello, the legendary former GM for the Devils as they won three Stanley Cups, just had his role with the Maple Leafs change from GM to special adviser. He was replaced as GM on Friday by young Kyle Dubas, and it has been reported Lamoriello would like out of his contract that would keep him as an adviser for the next three years.
Lamoriello had the same role as an overseer with the Devils when they hired Ray Shero as the GM in 2015, but he lasted only one year before taking on the challenge of rebuilding the Maple Leafs.
