Canada vs. Czechia (4 p.m. ET) -- Canada, which defeated Switzerland 6-3 in the quarterfinals on Wednesday, has won its five games by a combined 33-10, including a 5-1 victory against Czechia during the preliminary round. Forward Mason McTavish (Anaheim Ducks), Canada's captain, leads the tournament in scoring with 14 points (seven goals, seven assists). His linemate, forward Connor Bedard, the projected No. 1 pick in the 2023 NHL Draft, has seven points (three goals, four assists) and is third at the WJC with a plus-8 rating. Goalie Dylan Garand (New York Rangers), who had 23 saves against Switzerland and has a 2.00 goals-against average and .917 save percentage in four games, is expected to start. Czechia upset the defending champion United States 4-2 in the quarterfinals after losing its final three games in the preliminary round. Forward Jan Mysak (Montreal Canadiens), Czechia's captain, scored their first goal in the quarterfinals and leads them with six points (four goals, two assists) in five games. Czechia has not finished in the top three at the WJC since it was third in 2005; it last won the tournament in 2001.
Sweden vs. Finland (8 p.m. ET) -- Sweden defeated Latvia 2-1 in the quarterfinals. Goalie Jesper Wallstedt (Minnesota Wild) has allowed six goals on 77 shots in three games (.922 save percentage).
