No serious damage to the eye, but swelling making the eye near shut. How much the swelling goes down will determine what role Kuemper will be able to play Monday.
I ain’t no hockey player, but it seems to me highly unlikely that trained, professional hockey player camping out in the crease pokes Avs goalie in the face with a stick by accident.
You’re right, you aren’t a hockey player OR much of a hockey watcher. Accidents with the stick happen all the time, especially when one is in the crease and an opponent is trying to prevent you from using your stick.

Bednar says Kuemper has an eye injury but could play Monday.
