Pete DeBoer will be back behind the Devils’ bench next season.

Devils general manager Lou Lamoriello announced during the first intermission of today’s game against Boston that the head coach has is already under contract for next season and will definitely be back.

“There are a lot of rumors going on, a lot of misinformation about our coach. So, I’m going to step out of character and put this to rest,” Lamoriello said. “Pete DeBoer is under contract for next year, has been under contract for next year and will be coaching next year. That’s all I have to say

“We usually wait to make any announcements about anything or when it’s not necessary (say nothing). Wherever the information is coming from, I can’t answer that, but I thought I’d just put that to rest.”
