Patrick Kane’s Point Streak Comes To An End

from Brian Hedger at NHL.com,

Patrick Kane seemed relieved after his point streak ended at 26 games at United Center on Tuesday.

Kane's streak, which came to a halt in the Colorado Avalanche's 3-0 victory, is the longest by an American-born NHL player, longest in Chicago Blackhawks history and longest since Mats Sundin had a 30-game streak in 1992-93 for the Quebec Nordiques.

"It was a fun run," Kane said. "I think you never know what's going to happen with the streak, or there's a lot of games when it seemed like we were down and out, and you end up getting something at the end, whatever it may be. But, you know, it was fun breaking the American record. I was happy with that, and to break the franchise record too, that was pretty special as well. It was definitely fun while it lasted."

in fairness, it takes a lot of luck to keep a streak like that going—unless you are 99—and .20 had already gotten some of that.

I watched a significant part of this game.  I really do not like having to root for Colorado, but I was most happy to see Chicago lose and to see Kane’s streak, which had been manipulated into existence anyway, end.  That stumbling puke thinks he is worthy of great honor because he is a fine player.  When he gets to be 15% as good off the rink, he may be worthy of consideration as a member of the human race.

Yes, I do not like him one little bit.
