He played in Switzerland last year and for the Wild the year before. I wish cheap old broken down vets could get waiver protection so that they could still hang around the league and get dusted off for the stretch.

One of two things
1) Announcing retirement, signing a one day contract and retiring a Shark
2) Sharks are signing him as depth for the rest of the season.
Wouldn’t be surprised either way.

Retiring and taking a position with the organization.
You don’t announce a press conference to announce a signing (see: Osgood, Chris) and him getting a job in the organization would be why Wilson will be there.
