An intriguing matchup starts tonight with the Vegas Golden Knights hosting the Montreal Canadiens.

We are about to find out if the Canadiens can continue their strong play or will the Golden Knights offensive power be too much?

Pre-game stats and numbers are below.

via the NHL PR department,

Pre-game
* The Canadiens are part of the final four for the third time since 1994 (also 2014 and 2010), while the Golden Knights are part of the final four for the third time in its first four seasons, making them the third franchise in League history to do so (also NYR and STL).

* Montreal carries an active seven-game win streak into Game 1, the fifth-longest stretch in franchise history (11 GP in 1993, 9 GP in 1978, 8 GP in 1960 & 1944). They also have an active streak of 437:53 without trailing in a game, the second-longest span in Stanley Cup Playoffs history. The 1960 Stanley Cup-champion Canadiens went 488:38 of playing time without trailing en route to their fifth consecutive championship.

* The Golden Knights have reached the Stanley Cup Final once (2018), while the Canadiens have reached the Final an NHL-record 32 times. Montreal’s last appearance in the Final was 1993, when they won their League-high 23rd championship (since 1917-18). Montreal aims to become the first Canadian team to reach the Final since Vancouver in 2011.

* Montreal will be the first Canadian team to play as visitors in a game contested in the United States in 460 days. The last occurrence was when Ottawa visited Los Angeles in what became the last game of the 2019-20 regular season (March 11, 2020).

* Marc-Andre Fleury (8-4; 1.91 GAA, .923 SV%, 1 SO in 2021) has earned a win in four consecutive appearances dating back to Game 3 of the Second Round. Should he win Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Semifinals he would extend a personal win streak to five games for the fifth time in his career: 7 GP in 2008, 5 GP in 2018 (2x) and 5 GP in 2009.

* Marc-Andre Fleury, who hails from Sorel, Que., holds an all-time record of 3-4 (2.82 GAA, .892 SV%, 1 SO w/ PIT) against the Canadiens in the postseason. Fleury trails only Mario Gosselin (7-6), Dan Bouchard (5-6), Martin Biron (4-1), Gilles Meloche (4-3) Rejean Lemelin (4-2) and Martin Brodeur (4-1) for the most wins among Quebec-born goaltenders against Montreal in Stanley Cup Playoffs history.

* Canadiens players Tyler Toffoli (2-2—4 in 10 GP), Corey Perry (1-0—1 in 6 GP), Joel Armia (1-0—1 in 4 GP) and Ben Chiarot (0-1—1 in 4 GP) have appeared in at least one playoff game against the Golden Knights.

* Golden Knights players Reilly Smith (3-0—3 in 7 GP), Marc-Andre Fleury (7 GP), Mark Stone (0-4—4 in 6 GP), Nick Holden (0-1—1 in 5 GP) and Jonathan Marchessault (1 GP) have appeared in at least one playoff game against the Canadiens.

* Max Pacioretty (4-4—8 in 7 GP) and Tyler Toffoli (4-4—8 in 6 GP) enter Game 1 on a point streak, marking the fourth time in the last 20 years two players on opposing teams enter the final four with a point streak of at least six games: Joe Thornton (6 GP) and Jonathan Toews (9 GP) in 2010, Bates Battaglia (6 GP) and Gary Roberts (6 GP) in 2002 and Brett Hull (7 GP) and Peter Forsberg (6 GP) in 2000.

* Nick Suzuki, who assisted on each of Montreal's two series-clinching goals this postseason, was the Golden Knights’ first-round pick in the 2017 NHL Draft (No. 13). On Sept. 10, 2018, Suzuki was traded with Tomas Tatar to the Canadiens for Max Pacioretty, who played for Montreal in each of his first 10 NHL seasons (2008-09 to 2017-18) – including three as team captain (2015-16 to 2017-18).
