Open Post- 13 Games Today

I am running a bit slow today but better late than never.

13 games on the schedule today and if you'd like to enjoy some leftovers without hockey, there is a window around 10pm ET tonight to do so.

Otherwise, hockey from 1pm until 1am today.

Full schedule is below.

Anyone in the Grand Rapids area with Comcast, Dish, Charter, or just an antenna can watch the Griffins play the Chicago Wolves at 7:00 tonight. It’s on WXSP channel 15 (channel 18 on Comcast here in GR). Looking forward to seeing Berggren play.

Watching the Griffs!  The captain of the wolves got in Witters face in the first period. Griffs up 2 to 0.

Seeing how many former Wings on the Caps roster:

Jensen (trade)
Mantha (trade).
Cholowski (waivers).

The Griffins game was a huge disappointment. Berggren made a few nice passes, but it’s obvious he misses having someone like Veleno on his line.

The Griffins were up 3-0 at the start of the third. That lasted about two minutes before the score was 3-2. Then the Wolves both tied it up and scored the go-ahead goal in the final two minutes. After an empty netter, the Wolves walked away with a 5-3 win.

McIsaac did score his first two goals of the year, but he’s definitely not ready for the NHL yet. And other than Berggren, I don’t think anyone else on the roster is either – although I’d like to see what Riley Barber would do as a wing on the third line. The guy shoots from everywhere and has a fairly accurate shot.

All in all, this version of the Griffins doesn’t look anywhere near as poised as the team I watched for a number of games last spring. It really makes you appreciate how amazing both Seider and Raymond are when you see what their peers are doing in the AHL.
