from Rick Gosselin of the Dallas Morning News,
"I think he's just hitting the window of his best years right now," Stars general manager Jim Nill said.
Nill knows a little something about windows of greatness. He spent 19 seasons with the Detroit Red Wings and watched 11 Hall of Famers -- Steve Yzerman, Nicklas Lidstrom, Sergei Fedorov, Dominik Hasek, Brendan Shanahan, Chris Chelios, Luc Robitaille, Brett Hull, Igor Larionov, Larry Murphy and Viacheslav Fetisov -- help bring Stanley Cups to the Motor City.
"I think there's still a little bit more out there for Jamie," Nill said. "When he's on his game, he's one of the best two-way players in the league and I think he can improve on that. I was fortunate to have worked in Detroit and remember Steve Yzerman. He became a better player when he was 29, 30, 31 and 32. It's experience and learning to play different ways. There's still more there for Jamie."
And Benn knows exactly what that "more" is.
"There's a lot more to give to get something even bigger," Benn said. "You grow up with big dreams and big goals. I've had some pretty good years but it's just the beginning. Team success is the next step -- winning a Stanley Cup."
