from Dave Isaac of the Courier-Post,
Despite the fact that he hasn’t played the last six games, Weise is worn down. It’s more of a mental fatigue than physical. He expected to play more and the Flyers probably expected the same.
When he inked a four-year contract worth $9.4 million, the Flyers were banking on him trending upward in the offensive production despite the fact that his career high in goals is 14 and came last year in his fifth full season.
He’s been healthy scratched 15 times, missed another three games to a suspension and entered Wednesday’s game against Pittsburgh with two goals and three assists in 50 games.
“I’ve been out so many times this year, I guess you have a different mindset every time you come in,” Weise said. “I really don’t know what to tell you guys anymore. First couple times it’s frustrating and you kind of come back with a chip on your shoulder because you’re motivated. When it happens so many times, you’re just at a loss.”
