via Tim Panaccio of CSNPhilly,
Flyers forward Dan Carcillo will not be suspended for pushing off linesman Greg Devorski during an attempt to fight Boston’s Matt Hunwick’s during Thursday’s 5-1 loss to the Bruins.
Devorski tried to separate the two late in the two period when Carcillo struck him.
Ironically, the decision was left in left Devorski’s hands, and he cut the Flyers a break, CSNPhilly.com was told.
“I have spoken to Stephen Walkom about the play,” said Colin Campbell, the NHL’s Lord of Discipline in an e-mail to CSNPhilly.com.
“And IF Greg Devorski, who was the linesman with Carcillo, decided Carcillo needed discipline, they could apply three, 10 or 20 games themselves under Rule 41, Abuse of Officials. They decided not to and I am fine with their decision.”
