No captain, no problem for Devils

Via NHL.com, his report from NJ.com's Rich Chere isn't exactly surprising:
The Devils' equipment managers haven't begun sewing a 'C' onto the jerseys of Andy Greene, Adam Henrique or anyone else.
That's because the Devils may not have a captain this season.
"There is no rush for this. I'm not sure we'll have one," general manager Ray Shero told NJ Advance Media. "Maybe we will. I don't want to paint myself into a corner by saying we'll have one and we don't, or we won't have one and we do."
If they do decide to name a captain, who will make the pick?
"If we choose a captain it will be a combination of the head coach (John Hynes) and myself," Shero said. "If we pick one out, it will be after due consideration. And hopefully it will be the right choice."
If the Devils get younger this season, wouldn't a captain be important?
"I don't know. John and myself have never been here before with these players, so it's hard for me to answer. We don't know the players yet," Shero said.
