What if..

NBC hired Kypreos as an NHL analyst?

Okay with that and what current analyst should he replace?

Sportsnet has been making a lot of cost cutting personnel decisions this summer. Bob Mccowan (sp) a longtime radio host in Toronto was let go as well. I guess the sports networks are all going to less experienced (re: cheaper) on air talent.

I would love to see Kypreos end up on NBC if it meant the elimination of Mike Millbury, Jeremy Roenick, Kieth Jones from the group….

Easy one. Eddie O., even though he is one of the broadcasters. mad

Kipper would be an improvement over any NBC analyst he replaced, and I’m not even a fan of him.

Doug Maclean makes it official, he will not be returning either.

He would probably go to TSN or CBC?  I don’t really have a problem with JR.  At least, JR adds some personality to an otherwise bland NBC lineup.

And only about two decades late…

CBC doesn’t produce hockey (HNiC is produced by Sportsnet) and TSN has analysts who are smart and capable.

What would they POSSIBLY want with Kypreos?

The only good thing about Kypreos was watching Elliotte Friedman try to stop his eyes from rolling into the back of his head every time that moron opened his stupid mouth.

Doug Maclean makes it official, he will not be returning either.

Holy shit!

*checks the calendar*

Are we SURE it isn’t Christmas?

If NHL Network Radio were smart, they would scoop up Kypreos, McClain and have them do a hour each afternoon. I would certainly listen to them as opposed to Scott Laughlin & Steve Kouleous because those two are Unlistenable. Not to mention that Laughlin has awful taste in the bumper music that he plays…. sick

Pipe-dream thinking here, but what if a 3rd hockey entity was about to be revealed to rival TSN and Sportsnet?
Perhaps DAZN, Yahoo or something else entirely?

I cannot express how much I cannot stand the way Laughlin pronounces anything with a “CH” sound. He over emphasizes it. (Yes, I am that petty).
“Sidney Crosby who just won an N.H.CHEL CHHHAmpionship…”
Or how he pronounces Martin Brodeur’s name like he’s some native Quebecer.

Boomer Gordon remains the best commentator on NHL Radio, IMO.

This exactly echoes my sentiments.  I don’t even like him much, but he’d still be a step up in replacing a number of people on NBC.
