I guess this is one way to spend to the cap… maybe a third trade is brewing but I can’t think of another team with cap problems who need this medicine the NYI have.

What a weird organization the Islanders have. I hope Leddy flourishes with the Isles, I always liked his game, but not many folks flourish out there lately.

Holland misses the boat again.  Leddy and Boychuk are both RH shots I believe…. assuming Boston may not have dealt him to Detroit, what about Leddy?  Moves the puck like Babs would have liked.  Oh well.

Yes, I thought Boston didn’t want to deal him to any team in the East. Well, that’s why the red wings supposedly couldn’t trade for him.  Amazing how other teams seem to find a way to discard their excess and get something for them while our GM can’t for whatever reason.

fyi: Leddy is left handed & Boychuk is right handed.

Yeah that whole imaginary salary cap had nothing to do with it.  Nor did the fact that no one wants to trade for Lashoff or

Boychuk was a high price to pay for a UFA-to-be and Pokka was a 2nd round pick who was supposed to go in the 1st round last summer. The Isles paid a pretty dang solid price for Leddy—it would’ve been the equivalent of Detroit giving up one of the quintet on defense, McCollum and Lashoff. Emphasis on one of the quintet on defense.

What salary cap? We have space and dump some of the waste.  Trade Lashoff for a bag of peanuts!

George - I’m ok with that.  We have too many prospects almost, prospects are for bringing up, or for trading, it’s time we trade a few for a key piece or two.  All 5 of those guys aren’t going to all being playing for us.  We’ve got guys we have to stick on waivers and we have way too many of the same type of forward.

My bad on Boychuk being a lefty, not a righty, but we could use a guy like him still.  He’s like Lashoff but can actually play!

I’m getting tired of other teams making the moves we have to make and Holland reluctant to or unable to pull the trigger.

Boychuk is RH - Leddy is LH

Leddy will be nothing without sheltered zone starts and low quality of competition. He played an average of 2 seconds of PK time per game last year. What is to want?

Maybe true. But maybe the B’s just don’t consider the Isle a serious threat. They’d have probably felt safe sending him to Carolina or Florida too.

We need to invent a 3D printer that prints right handed defensemen.  Kickstarter people!
