Stars forward Joe Pavelski (37 years, 185 days) posted a career-high five points (2-3—5) and became the oldest NHLer with as many in a game since March 28, 2011, when Hockey Hall of Fame member Teemu Selanne scored a hat trick and had two assists at 40 years and 268 days old.

* Dallas extended its home winning streak to five games and improved to 13-1-0 (26 points) at American Airlines Center dating to Nov. 13, 2021. The Stars’ 13 home wins over that span represent the most in the NHL.



MARCHAND SCORES HAT TRICK TO RECORD THIRD STRAIGHT MULTI-GOAL GAME
Bruins forward Brad Marchandtallied twice in a span of 15 seconds and added the 33rd shorthanded marker of his NHL career to complete the hat trick, which was his third consecutive game with multiple goals dating to Jan. 8 (7-1—8).

* Boston (20-11-2, 42 points), which occupies the final Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference, improved to 6-1-0 (12 points) since Jan. 1 and has outscored opponents by a 33-16 margin over that span.

RASK SET TO MAKE SEASON DEBUT ON ESPN THURSDAY
Longtime Bruins goaltender Tuukka Rask, who officially signed a one-year contract with the team on Jan. 11, is expected to appear in his first game this season when Boston hosts Philadelphia at TD Garden in one of 11 contests Thursday.

* Rask has played in parts of 14 NHL seasons with the Bruins and is the franchise’s all-time leader in both wins (306) and games played (560) by a goaltender, while also stockpiling a Stanley Cup (2011), Vezina Trophy (2013-14) and William M. Jennings Trophy (2019-20) over the course of his tenure in the Spoked-B.



LAMORIELLO CAN CLIMB WINS LIST AS ISLANDERS FACE HIS FORMER CLUB
Lou Lamoriello of the Islanders enters Thursday with 1,505 career wins as an NHL general manager (regular season & playoffs) and needs one to match Glen Sather (1,506) for the second highest combined total in League history. Lamoriello earned 1,229 of his victories as an executive with New Jersey, which New York defeated by a 4-2 margin on Dec. 11, 2021 to kickstart its active five-game home point streak (4-0-1).

SEVERAL STREAKS ON THE LINE AS TRIO OF TEAMS VIE FOR 25TH VICTORY
Ondrej Palat, Brady Skjei and Tanner Jeannot can extend their respective goal streak as the Lightning (24-9-5, 53 points), Hurricanes (24-7-2, 50 points) and Predators (24-11-2, 50 points) look to become the first NHL teams to reach the 25-win mark this season.

* Palat potted at least one tally in each of Tampa Bay’s last four games (5-1—6), which marks the longest goal streak of his NHL career. Palat’s five goals in 2022 trail only Bruins forward Brad Marchand (8-4—12 in 7 GP), Penguins forward Bryan Rust (7-4—11 in 3 GP) and Blackhawks forward Alex DeBrincat (6-0—6 in 6 GP) for the most in the NHL.

* Skjei has scored in each of Carolina’s last three contests (4-2—6). That’s the longest active goal streak among NHL defensemen and one game back of the lengthiest in franchise history by a Hurricanes/Whalers blueliner, achieved by Dougie Hamilton from Oct. 6-12, 2019 (4-2—6 in 4 GP).

* Jeannot, who leads all rookies with 12 tallies this season (12-11—23 in 37 GP), owns an active four-game home goal streak dating to Dec. 4, 2021 (5-1—6). His run is the longest home goal streak by a rookie in franchise history.
