ARLINGTON, Va. – The Washington Capitals have re-signed goaltender Michal Neuvirth to a two-year contract extension, vice president and general manager George McPhee announced today. Neuvirth will earn $2.4 million in 2013-14 and $2.6 million in 2014-15.
Neuvirth, 25, currently ranks third in career wins (55) in Capitals history among goalies originally drafted by the team and owns the sixth-most career wins among active goaltenders aged 25 or younger. The native of Usi Labem, Czech Republic, has posted a 4-5-2 record with a 2.74 goals-against average and a .910 save percentage in 13 games with Washington this season
