That return is embarrassing. Should have at least included a 1st or 2nd!

WOW! Pens got fleeced in this trade.

Poile does it again, must be nice to have a GM that knows how to make trades.

Weird they couldn’t get better elsewhere.
Teams would offer the World for Neal if he was a free agent

If I’ve learned anything in the past three months, it’s that David Poile knows how to negotiate a trade.

I don’t know, the Pens got 85 points back while shipping out 61 and are able to say that they no longer have that dirty POS on their roster.

Seems like it’s win/win.

hopefully they do an online “Ask James Neal” Q and A about what he thinks about the trade grin

I agree with Garth. Neal has become a liability with bad penalties and dirty play. They got good value back and a 3rd or 4th line forward to help rebuild the bottom 6. Don’t forget that Neal played most of his hockey on Malkin’s wing. This is a solid trade that native Yinzers should be happy with.

I believe Garth has it right here. Neal was taking terrible penalties in the post season while contributing very little beyond the occasional dirty play. Not surprised that Neal was traded, to be honest.
