LAS VEGAS (Aug. 18, 2016) – Bill Foley, majority owner of the newly awarded NHL franchise in Las Vegas, and Black Knight Sports & Entertainment, LLC, announced today that Murray Craven has been hired as a senior vice president for the team.
In this role, Craven’s responsibilities include the development of the team’s practice facility in Summerlin, a Las Vegas community, and the build-out of team and league facilities at the T-Mobile Arena. Craven will also be involved in identifying the team’s American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate and will be responsible for establishing and fostering a relationship with the AHL team. Additionally, Craven will oversee projects at the request of George McPhee, general manager for the Las Vegas franchise.
Craven played 18 seasons in the National Hockey League between 1982–83 and 1999–2000, and has played for the Detroit Red Wings, Philadelphia Flyers, Hartford Whalers, Vancouver Canucks, Chicago Blackhawks and the San Jose Sharks.
Craven has served as an advisor to Black Knight Sports & Entertainment’s for the past two years and coaches youth hockey in Whitefish, Mont.
