“I miss playing and miss being on the ice.  he frustrating part is not being able to do what you want to do. You get close and it doesn’t work. It becomes worrisome because you don’t know if you can come back and play again. There are a lot of things that go through your head.

“I feel like I’m closer, but not where I need to be to be playing games. I’d say we’re on the right track, though.”

-Chris Osgood, goaltender for the Detroit Red Wings on trying to recover from hernia surgery.  More from Tim Twentyman of the Detroit News.

Did he have groin problems or a concussion? Those quotes are what you hear from guys after taking a shot to the head.

Groin injury and sports hernia. There was more to the injury than first thought. I wouldn’t rule out the concussion either.

Whatever happens, I hope Ozzie gets at least one more shot at playing.

Even an HHOF goaltender has to play his way back onto the squad in Dee-troyet.

Lets Go Red Wings!!!!!
