Morning Line

“It’s a joke. It’s embarrassing, we put ourselves being the 8-ball every night, every single night. Enough is enough. I don’t know what’s going on. It’s a joke . . . They get in at 3 in the morning (today) after a loss and they want it more than us. It just can’t be that way. We played well the next 40 but we lost by a goal because we allowed two early ones.”

-Matt Duchene of the Colorado Avalanche after losing to the Flames last night.  More from Mike Chambers of All Things Avs.

I would feel for Duchene, except that he grew up a Dive fan. No empathy here.

When a team is this demoralized, the GM has to go.

Well, Stastny has been a bust the past few years. Quincey barely gave it a go. Hejduk is a dinosaur. What more do they have? EJ? - bust

Outside of a few up and coming rookies and/or prospects you don’t hear much from Denver. It’s been a long time since they were relevant either.

Time to retool - starting at the top.

There was a time when every single GM was drooling all over the young players stockpiled by the Dives under Lacroix.

Hazards of the draft.
