Minnesota Wild Sign Kevin Fiala To A Two-Year Contract

ST. PAUL -- Minnesota Wild General Manager Bill Guerin today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has re-signed forward Kevin Fiala (pronounced fee-A-lah) to a two-year, $6 million contract ($2.5 million in 2019-20 and $3.5 million in 2020-21).

Fiala, 23 (7/22/96), recorded 39 points (13-26=39) and 36 penalty minutes (PIM) in 83 games last season with the Minnesota Wild and Nashville Predators. He set career highs in assists, PIM, games played and TOI/game (15:38) and was one of three players in the NHL to play in more than 82 games last season. Fiala was acquired by Minnesota from the Nashville Predators in exchange for Mikael Granlund on Feb. 25, 2019 and tallied seven points (3-4=7) in 19 games with the Wild. He recorded his 100th career point with two assists vs. the New York Rangers on March 16 and skated in his 200th NHL game against Montreal on Feb. 14.
