That’s comparable to fining me $135, basically the smallest speeding ticket I could get.  Scandella’s income is also going to quadruple next year.  Mine?  Not so much.

Ever known someone who continued to speed after getting one small speeding ticket?

Wow, a whole 2700 bucks.

If you don’t want players to engage in poor behavior, you have to make the punishment for doing so hurt.

I’m a firm believer in the concept that a player fine should be accompanied by a team fine, even if it’s small. If the player screws up, the coach has screwed up and the organization has screwed up. Just giving the player the maximum fine under the CBA doesn’t serve as much of a deterrent any more.
