Marc-Andre Fleury Continues to Shut the Door

The dazzling playoff performance from Marc-Andre Fleury continued on Monday as the three-time Stanley Cup champion stopped 38 of 41 shots, leading his Golden Knights to a 4-3 OT win and a 2-1 series lead over San Jose.

Fleury sits atop the postseason leaderboards in goals against average (1.23 GAA), save percentage (.960 SV%), and wins (6), and Vegas is now 6-1, overall, in the playoffs despite being outshot in five of the seven games.

Even though San Jose has been the better team for the majority of the last two games, Vegas’ odds are getting shorter thanks to Fleury’s continued stonewalling. They were +118 underdogs to win Game 3 but are closer to +110 – +115 for Game 4.

The Golden Knights started out with 150-1 odds, and after the debacle of the Super Bowl upset, bookies will be trying to prevent a big blow. If you’re betting, this list of a few top sports gambling web sites  that are good to peruse before you start.

Based on the way San Jose controlled possession and drove the play in Game 3 (outside of a ten-minute stretch in the second period), that change in the odds can only be motivated by one thing: the disparity in goaltending.

ESPN has more on the various moneylines out for Game 4, which goes tonight at 7:00 PM PT at SAP Arena in San Jose.
