Lundqvist on Letterman

Via SI's Michael Blinn, New York Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist took a break from the NHL and NHLPA's "Player Media Tour" to appear on The Late Show With David Letterman on Monday night. The Late Show's YouTube channel posted a 2-minute clip of the impeccably-dressed Lundqvist discussing playing goal in the playoffs and the "goony" Los Angeles Kings:

The Late Show's website posts entire episodes on a slightly delayed basis, so Lundqvist's full appearance should be up in a day or two...

And here's what the NHL and NHLPA are doing later this morning:

Wow.. look at that hair…

Anyway, he hit the nail on the head, mental aspect of being a goalie is the hardest part for him. I think Jimmy really struggled with this last season, I hope he matures and can bring his A game for Detroit this season, and when the going gets tough… well whatever, no clich├ęs, just play hockey Howard! Stay mentally tough.

Did the Prince just say the real Kings got lucky?!? I think he hit his head hard when he went down face first while giving up the cup winning goal. He was sprawled out on the ice for a while there, so it’s the only conclusion that make sense. wink
