16 1/2 years of doing what I do and I am not about to let a hacker stop me.

I want and need your input regarding options I have.

Option #1, get KK/A2Y up and running by applying a temporary patch which would only be good for a short period of time. At the same time, doing a complete site rebuild would be going on in the background with an estimated completion time in one month.

When this rebuild is complete, KK will be able to take on new bloggers for all the NHL teams which would make KK whole again. Those of you who were around about 8 years ago will recall KK was hopping on a daily basis.

The software will be the latest and greatest, the site will load much quicker and will be safe from hacks.

I have a few thousand I am going to put towards this but it is expensive, I would need $12K in donations to move forward.

I would also point out this is the last donation I will be asking for KK. If we can do this upgrade, I would be all set for years to come.

As someone wrote to me today, a person who I have never met but consider a mentor...

"KK is your baby which you have worked so hard to raise from infancy to adulthood. I encourage you to retain sole ownership of the site.

At the moment, you are in the center of a storm where there seems no way out. If you can hang on for dear life, this storm will eventually pass.

Then you will do what is needed to rebuild the site and restore your passion project.

Batten down the hatch! I'll see you on the other side."

Option #2. Become the managing editor of a new site, owned by someone else, but I would remain active on the site. This new site (probably WordPress) would also add more bloggers to it, making it once again the place to visit for all things NHL and hockey.

There is no donation needed for this but the current KK will be down until the new site is ready.
