FRISCO, Texas - Dallas Stars General Manager Jim Nill announced today that the club has acquired goaltender Jhonas Enroth from the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for goaltender Anders Lindback and a conditional third round selection in the 2016 NHL Draft.

Enroth, 26, has posted a 13-21-2 record in 37 games played this season with a .903 save percentage and a 3.27 goals against average. He has one shutout on the season, while going 5-0 in the shootout stopping 20 out of a possible 21 shooters.

In 118 career regular season games, he has posted a 38-56-14 record with four shutouts, a 2.92 goals against average and a .910 save percentage.

"Jhonas is an extremely instinctive, experienced goaltender and Head Coach Lindy Ruff has a familiarity with his game," said Nill. "Going down the stretch, where we have five more back-to-back situations, it was important for us to have a game-tested goaltender to help balance the workload."

The 5-foot-10, 166-pound native of Stockholm, Sweden was originally selected by Buffalo in the second round (46th overall) of the 2006 NHL Draft.

Lindback, 26, posted a 2-8-0 record in ten games played with Dallas this season with a 3.71 goals against average and an. 875 save percentage. The six-foot-six, 215-pound native of Galve, Sweden was signed by Dallas as a free agent on July 1, 2014.

Now thats a sensible trade for both sides.  Should help Dallas quite a bit with the way Lehtonen has struggled lately.

You have to tip your hat to a goaltender who can manage a .903 sv% playing behind that team.

Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie
If Jonas Enroth wins 4 playoff games for DAL, BUF gets 2nd round pick instead of 3rd. That’s the condition. But BUF guaranteed at least 3rd. somewhat better

Correction - that was a 3rd round pick and small bag of pucks and 2 broken sticks - he was In Tampa last year

see those numbers - why we couldn’t beat MTL last year with him in goal

Hard to win when you go on the ice knowing you have to score 4, 5 maybe 6 goals to win, which I think we actually scored 5 or 6 to get him a couple wins last year

WHY DALLAS EVEN SIGNED HIM IS BEYOND ME - should have signed Paul Kukla for that matter

Ya I know 1.5 mil to sit and watch hockey in a great seat would be just excruciating - but they’d have been better off
