via the New Jersey Devils PR department,
On Tuesday night against Seattle, Jack Hughes suffered a dislocation of his left shoulder. A subsequent MRI revealed no further damage, and he does not require surgery at this time. He has begun physical therapy under the guidance of New Jersey's doctors and athlete care staff.
Jack will be re-evaluated next week in order to determine his further timeline.
He was placed on injured reserve today and updates will be provided when available.

What a tough situation. I thought it was not a dirty play and he landed tough on his shoulder.
That said - my disappointment is that the refs got in the way of Lauzon and that NJD guy got some free swings in there.
I can’t dismiss the fact that it was their Franchise player in Jack Hughes and someone had to step in - I would not understand stepping in to fight if a 4th liner was injured - but losing Hughes can spell an early end to any playoff hopes the Devs had. No problem with the Devils picking the fight because it was HUGHES and felt the guy should have gotten a 2 min instigator.
So disappointed Jack got hurt, but that’s hockey sometimes.
