via the New Jersey Devils,

The New Jersey Devils provided the following medical update on center Jack Hughes who suffered an injury to his left knee during Sunday's game against the New York Islanders.

Following imaging and evaluation of Jack's injury by the Devils medical staff and head orthopedic surgeon/Chief Medical Officer Dr. Jonathan L. Glashow, it was determined that Jack suffered a low grade MCL sprain of his left knee.

Given the timing, he will be held out of game action for the rest of the season. Jack will begin his motion rehab and conditioning immediately.
