I contend I can slewfoot you and bounce your head on a vulnerable part of the skull against the ice with more concussive force than an elbow or shoulder hit to the head.

The best players I know can handle a slash, trip, hack, etc,  but they really express a degree of anger over a slewfoot

This really needs to be eliminated from our sport.

That idiot does it on a regular basis.  We even nickname him PK Slewfoot on one Rangers blog.  I won’t shed any tears for Kunitz, however.  Guys from his team does it quite often.  Brad Richards is irate, with a stiff neck,  because Cooke did the same thing to him on Thursday.  I remember Malkin on Girardi in their last playoff series; and Crosby to Dubinsky a couple of seasons ago.

I’m sure you were equally appalled at the lack of respect that Mark Messier showed on the ice as well Jbytes.

Not surprised.  PK seems to love to pull out at least one of these every game against the Pens.  He’ll get it back one day.

I’ve never liked Kunitz way back to his days playing with the *ucks, but he’s one lucky dude his knee didn’t give out on him.

PK Subban was a stud two years ago. Now he’s turning into one dirty SOB.

PK Subban is a piece of shit.

What Cooke did on Thursday night wasn’t a slewfoot, JBytes.  Get over yourself.

Get over myself?  You’e funny!  Trust me, what happens to these guys on the ice is no skin off my back.  I watch hockey and cheer for the Rangers as a form of entertainment.  I do not get bent out of shape over a bunch of millionaires trying to dismember each other.

Sometimes the slow-mo is deceptive, but in this case it really shows how dirty and dangerous that is.  It is, as Cuban noted, pretty much impossible to play through.

If the Matt Cooke slew footing of Richards the other night wasn’t a slew foot, than neither was this.

The denial of Pens fans when they’re players do dirty stuff is ridiculous.

Yes, this is a slew foot.

Yes, because fans of all teams think logically when it comes to their team.  Anytime a negative column from elsewhere or written by a a blogger here about the Red Wings comes up, it’s always let go.

With Cooke, it probably was a slewfoot, though I think from the only video replay of it I have seen that you could argue that their legs got tangled, the league, which has had no problem making an example of Matt Cooke (Which is well deserved.  You will find few Pens fans that will argue that Cooke did not deserve that suspension, but the fact of the matter is that similar players with multiple suspensions have not been treated as harshly, which is utter bull shit), said it was not worth supplemental discipline.  For as much as Cooke does, he isn’t known throughout the league for his slewfoots.  Yet the Canadian media (Darren Dreger in particular) blew up the Cooke situation (as well it should be for a player who will never get the benefit of the doubt).  However, as of the time I am writing this, he has said nothing of the above, which is an even more dangerous slewfoot just because of their position on the ice.

Subban, well, this is at least the 3rd slewfoot on just the Pens since they met in the playoffs two years ago.  Not counting the fact he sliced Jordan Staal’s leg and the numerous other transgressions that seem to go unpunished every game against the Pens.

Am I the only one who finds irony in a Pen fan whining about uncalled penalties against opponent teams?  Yes, PK threw a dirty slewfoot, and those need to be taken out of the game but the

numerous other transgressions that seem to go unpunished every game against the Pens.

statement is laughable.
It seems you have already forgotten a certain cup finals series in which Malkin was not assessed a clear-cut game suspension for instigting in the final fminutes of a game to “send a message.”  Or an extended period of too many men on the ice that went uncalled.  It was perfectly alright when the refs turned a blind eye then, but now it’s unacceptable?

Elliotte Friedman tweet,

Hearing there will be no suspension for PK Subban. But sounds like he’s going to get a fine and/or warning.

Yes, clear slewfoot.  Should have been called on the ice and should get more than a fine.  Subban is a dirty player.

I obviously did not make myself clear there, as I meant that Subban has numerous transgressions against the Pens every time they play (though, you know, reading the paragraph over again it may have been reading comprehension on your part).  Part of that is the league’s problem, and the other part is the Pens problem, as they should take care of him as cleanly and effectively as possible.  All it takes is Kunitz dumping it into his corner once and leveling him, though PK would most likely shy away from the contact (or at least he seems to do this against the Pens a lot.  I can’t say for other games)

As far as the Malkin thing from the 2009 Finals, which I even hesitate to bring up because we have gone over this so many times, but what did you think of the same situation that happened with Scott Walker in the same playoff season?

Twitter reports a $2,500 fine.

Dreger called it a “dangerous trip” because Pens fans spent hours last night harassing him.

Posted by J.J. from Kansas on 01/21/12 at 02:23 PM ET

How come no one ever talks about the BS that rains down from the crowd towards PK Subban? It’s mostly racially motivated, some of it comes very close to outright racism. I was at a Habs game in a city I don’t want to name (because I don’t want to brand the fans of this team as racist because there’s a few jerkoffs in the crowd), and it was embarrassing.

Not that this excuses the slewfooting and other showboating. I’m just saying.

The same finals where Zetterberg twice covered the puck in his crease. Calls were missed on both sides. It’s over. Get over it.
