GIF- David Savard Fined For A Slash

NEW YORK (Jan. 8, 2018) – Columbus Blue Jackets defenseman David Savard has been fined $5,000, the maximum allowable under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for slashing Florida Panthers forward Vincent Trocheck during NHL Game No. 647 in Columbus on Sunday, Jan. 7, the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced today.

Refs have stopped calling the slashes again as well which is too bad.

I wish they would start to suspend guys for this. $5k is such a small portion of pay.

There is so much potential damage, long term, to a guys hand and fingers from a stupid slash like that.
