Flames will wear ‘heritage’ jerseys at 2011 outdoor Classic

From the Calgary Herald’s Vicki Hall:

Stock up on the long underwear, Calgary. Pull that giant winter parka out of the closet along with those mitts, tuque, scarf and boots.

The National Hockey League competition committee granted approval Friday for the Calgary Flames to host the Heritage Classic outdoor game Sunday, Feb. 20, 2011.

The venue? McMahon Stadium. The opposition? Michael Cammalleri and the Montreal Canadiens.

Only one formality remains: ratification by the NHL Players Association next week in Chicago.
