Finland vs. Czechia (2 p.m. ET) -- Czechia gave up a two-goal lead in the third period of its opening game against Slovakia on Tuesday, but a goal by forward Gabriel Szturc (2023 draft eligible) with 1:50 remaining in the third period gave them a 5-4 victory. "The key thing for us is to skate," said Czechia captain Jan Mysak (Montreal Canadiens), who scored two goals. "When we have good movement we create opportunities and we try to shoot as much as we can and then get to the net. You saw a lot of goals we scored were around the net and that's key for us." Finland defeated Latvia 6-1 on Tuesday in its first game. Joakim Kemell (Nashville Predators) had two goals and two assists and Aatu Raty (New York Islanders) had a goal and three assists. "I thought it was a good way to start the tournament," said Finland forward Brad Lambert (Winnipeg Jets), who scored a goal. "I think we trusted that we would get our chances and capitalized on them and we have to continue to do that."
Slovakia vs. Canada (6 p.m. ET) -- Canada found its game after a slow start in a 5-2 win against Latvia on Wednesday.
