The 2013-14 season marked the first full season at the NHL level for Krug, where he appeared in 79 regular season games, netting 14 goals (second among B’s defensemen) to become the fifth rookie blueliner in team history to score 10 or more goals. His 14 goals ranked third overall among all-time B’s rookie defensemen behind Ray Bourque’s 17 in 1979-80 and Greg Hawgood’s 16 in 1988-89. Krug’s 26 assists in 2013-14 ranked first among Bruins D-men, while his 40 points were tied for first among blueliners with captain Zdeno Chara. The 23-year-old finished 2014 fourth overall in the NHL rookie scoring race, but was first among NHL rookie defensemen. He was named to the 2013-14 All-Rookie Team.

In total, Krug has played in 140 NHL regular season games, where he has racked up 25-48=73 totals with a cumulative plus-23 rating.

In his first two NHL postseason games in 2012-13, Krug recorded goals in back-to-back games against the New York Rangers and finished his first playoffs playing in 15 games, tallying 4-2=6 totals. In the 2013-14 postseason run, Krug led all Bruins in scoring with 10 points (two goals, eight assists). In total, Krug has accumulated six goals and 10 assists for 16 points with a plus-three rating in 27 NHL playoff games.

Prior to joining Boston, Krug spent 2012-13 with Providence (American Hockey League), where he racked up 13 goals and 32 assists for 45 points. Preceding the P-Bruins, the defenseman competed at the collegiate level for three seasons at Michigan State (2009-12), appearing in 114 games, registering 26 goals and 57 assists.

The 5’9", 181-pound D-man hails from Livonia, Michigan and was signed as a free agent by Boston on March 25, 2012.

Smith has competed in all of the B's 62 regular season games thus far, and has registered 12 goals (fifth on the team) and 23 assists (fourth on the team) for 35 points (tied for second on the team) with a plus-11 rating (tied for second on the team).

Smith participated in his first full NHL season with Boston in 2013-14, establishing career-highs in all categories, recording 20 goals (fifth on the team) and 31 assists (tied for fifth on the team) for 51 points (sixth on the team) with a plus-28 rating. Smith was one of three Bruins to skate in all 82 games last season (Gregory Campbell, Brad Marchand).

In total, the winger has skated in 184 NHL games - 40 with Dallas and 144 with Boston - racking up 35 goals and 60 assists for 95 points with a plus-36 rating.

Smith played in his first NHL postseason game on April 18, 2014 against Detroit and notched his first NHL playoff goal in Game 2 versus the Red Wings on April 20. The forward finished the 2014 playoffs with four goals (tied for second on the team) and one assist with a plus-five rating (led the team).

At the AHL level, the 23-year-old Smith notched 14 goals and 21 assists with a plus-13 rating in 2012-13 with the Texas Stars. Prior to joining the Stars, Smith played collegiate hockey for three seasons at Miami University (Ohio), where he skated in 121 games, tallying 66 goals and 56 assists for 122 points. Smith led the Redhawks in 2010-11 and 2012-13 in goals with 28 and 30, respectively.

The Bruins acquired Smith on July 4, 2013 along with Loui Eriksson, Matt Fraser, and Joe Morrow from the Dallas Stars in exchange for Tyler Seguin, Rich Peverley and Ryan Button.

The 6’0’’ 185-pound forward from Toronto, Ontario was selected by the Dallas Stars in the third round (69th overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
