via John Vogle of Sabres Edge,

There's about a 1 in 8 chance those Daniel Briere jerseys stuffed in the closets of Sabres fans will come back in style.

The free agent center, who was bought out by the Philadelphia Flyers, tells The Buffalo News he's had contract chats with Buffalo.

"We are talking to about eight teams," Briere said in a text. "Sabres one of them."

The 35-year-old had six goals and 16 points in 34 games last season. He was set to have a salary cap hit of $6.5 million for the next two seasons, but the Flyers used a compliance buyout and made him a free agent.
