From Ansar Khan at MLive:
“I don’t think we’ll have Franzen, Datsyuk, Hudler or Bertuzzi available for tomorrow,’’ coach Mike Babcock said after today’s practice
It would be the first game Bertuzzi has missed during his second stint in Detroit. He has played in 155 consecutive games as a Red Wing.
“He’s had aches and pain for a while and he just can’t go,’’ Babcock said. “So we’ll give him a few days.’‘

Bert’s streak isn’t as important as his health. Sucks to have so many injuries but I like how cautious we are being. Too bad about Hudler, if he’d used protection he’d be back by now.

What happened to Hudler?

Piet Van Zant better start earning his paycheck. This is bringing back too many painful memories of last season. It also doesn’t help that with each game they miss, I keep thinking the injuries to Mule, Dangle and Happy are worse than what we’re being told.
Can’t the Wings use an emergency call up in a situation like this? Or does that only apply to goaltenders?

Damn skills competition took out another player. Must have been that shootout attempt that took out Bertuzzi.

Only applies to goaltenders.

Bert has been very physical the past few games when few others have been willing to, save for Helm and Abby. I’d say if he’s sore, he’s earned a game off.

Fuch you, Jobu. Stop futzing with our Wings.

Can we have a 50% Osgood backing Jim up? J-Mac has to go to GR if we want call up someone up, right?

this is not an “injury” per se. it sounds more like rest for the playoffs.

Agreed. Like I said, Bert has been a wrecking ball lately on the ice and is probably very sore and tired. A few days off could be a big help for the stretch run.
I’d like a healthy, nasty Bert ready for the playoffs. He’s been in VERY ill humor lately and seems prepared to pick up Samuelsson’s mantle as Playoff Agitator.

You know I’m kidding. Just having a bit of fun. When something goes south one of the 19 takes the hit. It’s all good.
