Bertuzzi Gets No Slack

from Chris McCosky of the Detroit News,
It doesn’t matter that he plays a hard, clean game, more than willing to stick up for himself and teammates without going out of his way to instigate trouble. He’s not a Lady Byng candidate by any stretch, but he’s far from a goon.
Yet, in the eyes and minds of some people in the game, it’s still 2004 and he’s still the thug that blindsided Moore. And by some people in the game, I am referring to the referees.
Bertuzzi is officiated differently, in my judgment, than other players. He is watched more closely, like he’s the neighborhood bully or something. If somebody falls near him, he’s the first guy the referees see.
